angesichts des albums stellt sich die frage, was für eine touringband er mitnehmen würde. wird das album in etwa musikalisch reproduziert, oder erwartet uns live wieder eine ganz andere interpretation als auf platte?

hm, das hört sich natürlich nicht gerade optimistisch an
ist halt die frage, wann das interview geführt wurde, kann ja schon ein weilchen her sein. das veröffentlichungsdatum sagt nicht unbedingt etwas aus. und vielleicht überkommt E beim abendlichen schmauchen mit hund wieder spontane lust zu touren. hoffnung stirbt zuletzt...
wenn e nicht tourt, dann müssen wir uns halt sehnsüchtigst und wahllos in die arme von butch und the chet und nick cave und depeche mode und leonard cohen und pearl jam und allen andern großen werfen, die grad touren...
(p.s.: was anderes mach ich eh nicht grad... hehe.)

There’s been no word yet about a tour. Will you be touring for this record? I’m not sure yet. It’s fairly possible that we could go on tour some time this year. We did three long, long tours [for Blinking Lights and Things the Grandchildren Should Know] – and all very different from each other. It was a lot. I’m not ready to get right back out there right now, but that could change at the drop of a hat.
Those tours were very ambitious in terms of their design – you did one with a string section, another included readings from the memoir. Is there pressure about feeling like you have to top yourself with whatever the next tour would look like? Naw, that’s not what’s stopping me right now. I’m just not feeling it really – I don’t want to disrespect the audience by doing something I’m not fully invested in right now. There’s no lack of inspiration as far as how I would do it – I just don’t feel like doing it at this moment.
